Steering gear РГМ are designed for swinging of the rudder on boats and other small-tonnage ships for cabotage. They comply with Rules of Register of shipping of Russian Federation.

By the customer’s request, steering gear may come complete of the following modifications: РГМР – hydraulic, double-cylidres, for one stock with hand pump for working fluid with transducer of rudder state from constant current source, voltage 27V.

РГМПЭ – electrohydraulic, with electrodrive fourcyliders, plungers, and add hand pump, pumping unit for one stock. Electric power – A. C., Three-phase 380V, 50Hz, and C . C. 27V. Steering gear are complete with remote control system. Adding information:

General information:

Steering gear РГМР and РГМПЭ are supplied with two control panels, the first is in position on pilot room, the second is portable and may make the switching of ship till the upper desk. It's comfortable on fish ships during of the work with the trawl. The power pumping plant may come complete in position outside on tiller room. The steering gear are simple, easy in operation and do not require continuous maintenance. 
 


The steering gears this of type are suitable for installation on ocean-going ships of all types and functions. These engines have a wide application in fishing vessels, and also on dry-cargo ships. Construction 234-292.1002 by application may be used for two-rudder ships. 

 

Supplementary information:

Steering gears may come complete with two power drivers on rudders which are controlled by common remote control system synchronous, it is for supplied for ships type "catamaran".

Power drive may come complete with pumping plants which are in position outside of tiller room. Emergency power drive with hand control allows in case of average, to regulate the rudder of ship up to arriving the ship the repair the near port. Emergency power drive may be to supply on addition to main control actuator.

It may complete as well as with the system and without it control system is determined by the project of ship. Remote control system are following: "Aist", "Pechora" (Russia), MSC-2 system electronic (Germany), "Sperry" (Danmark), "Anschuetz" (Germany) etc. By the customer's request the steering gears may complete with various types of systems.

Design:

The steering gear main components are two double-cylinder actuating drivers (servo mechanisms) of the rudder. The kinematic energy of a pumped working fluid is translated into mechanical power of reciprocating plunger.

This energy is translated then into tiller (rudder stock) rotary motion via a slide and hinged bearings. The plunger is actuated by pressure, built up the working fluid, forced by a constant delivery pump via a flow distribution slide valve and valve assembly into one of the two cylinder of the servo drive. The gear incorporates two propelling plants of equal power capacities, each providing steering gear specifications. Each propelling plants is connected with the servo drive through a valve and set on each cylinder. Hydrolocks enter in valve assembly and allowing unimpeded surtching on the from one propelling plant other.
 


This steering gear P12M - electric hydraulically, double-cylinder, is designed for two rudder stocks. Steering gear is supplied with two power plants and with one a supplem entary remote control system.

The steering gear P15M1…P18M1 are used in vessel to tonnage up to 70,000 рег.т. and also in tankers tonnages up to 10,000 рег.т. The engine P15M3…P18M3 in vessel tonnage more than 70,000 рег.т. and tankers tonnage more than 10,000 рег.т. By the customers request, the steering gears may come complete with supplementary units (installation of pressure gauge, reserve tanks, units filling and dewatering and etc.), which are simplified theirs service and increased operational reliability.

Steering gears supply's by two modifications: (P15…P18) M1 - localization of hydraulic system fault and removal of fault is made manually.

(P15…P18) M3 - localization of hydraulic system fault is mode automatically by running valve. It's conservation capacity of work till remval of fault.
